Team-building
The Drum Café experience provides the ideal platform for teams to experience the power of working together to achieve a common objective. Our facilitators quickly break barriers and draw people together, which is particularly useful when participants are unfamiliar with each other. Interactive drumming is an exercise in communication; it promotes the power of non-verbal communication and allows participants to feel the power of group energy directly. Any feelings of isolation and conflict disappear; participants bond and become a motivated and unified group.
Examples:
- Interactive drumming, Woolworths, 4 800 people drum together at Sydney Entertainment Centre, 2005
- Interactive drumming for Deutsche Leasing, 1 400 people,
Frankfurt, October 2005 etc...
|
General sessions
Interactive drumming with the Drum Cafe is an ideal activity
for large audiences when all delegates are together, such as
opening or closing sessions. The power of group energy is intensified
in larger groups, and the drumming will start or end your function
on an explosive high!
Examples:
- Texas Library Association - 3 000 librarians
- Interactive drumming for Microsoft Tech-ed, Amsterdam. 6000
people, June 2004 etc...

Conferences
Traditionally, drumming has been used as a prelude to community
functions. Open your conference with group drumming and get
off to a powerful start. Drumming quickly breaks the ice and
breaks barriers between participants.
To relax and invigorate participants, treat them to a break-out
drumming session in-between speeches and presentations. Since
companies spend a lot of money arranging conferences, it ’s
vital that participants remain focused and connected.
Or, end with a drumming session to leave a lasting memory of
the event, and leave participants feeling inspired!
Examples:
- The opening of the World Petroleum Conference
- Interactive drumming for Yamanouchi Pharmaceuticals' Pan European Conference (many language groups represented - event run purely with body language), Orlando, Florida, 1200 people, August 2004 etc

of your audience, and creates excitement around your product
launch and promotion.

- Wella product launch throughout Australia: Melbourne, Perth, Brisbane & Sydney, 2005
- High-profile launch of Louis Vuitton's hand luggage range in South Africa etc...

Parties and Celebrations
Drumming includes and acknowledges everyone, and is a constructive way to celebrate. It’s a great ice-breaker and gets people to de-stress and simply enjoy! The Drum Café remains a favourite for year-end functions.
Examples:

Client Functions
Interactive drumming consolidates a long-term relationship between the company and clients by giving back to clients in a unique and positive manner. A shared drumming experience facilitates the development of loyalty and trust.

Conflict resolution
With the proliferation of negative interaction between individuals
and teams, the handling of conflict is often very difficult.
Drumming together helps break down barriers to create a more
effective and harmonious environment. Workshops are run to
showcase the strength of working together. |
Gala Events, Fundraisers and Award Ceremonies
The energy that the Drum Café generates is guaranteed
to build a community and liven up any event. Give each person
a drum and let them beat along at gala events and fundraisers,
and rumble with applause at award ceremonies.
Examples:
- Perform at FNB Million Rand Awards, 300 people, Theatre on the Track
- CNN at Sandton Convention Centre and Journalist of Year Awards etc…
- Hope International: "The evening was a great success. We raised more funds than we aimed to."

Transformation and Change Management
The assurance of a sound foundation within an organisation can assist both groups and individuals to better cope with change. Interactive drumming provides insightful analogies and through being a part of the experience, delegates are able to accept change as a necessary component of evolution and growth within their working environment.
Examples:
- Interactive drumming for BP’s change management program, November 2004
- Drumming for Deloitte & Touche at a management strategy session focusing on transformation, 70 people, May 2005

Mergers
Interactive drumming gets people working together to make music as one and provides great insight into the synergy between individual and team. It follows that drumming is an ideal activity for the fusion of groups and/ or the merger of companies. The Drum Café experience shows the group that if they can play to the same beat and listen to each other, then they have the potential to make music as a united company!
Examples:
- The Sanofi-Aventis merger on 3 continents, the Sprint/Nextel merger in New York, the JP Morgan/Chase/Bank One merger etc...

And remember ...
The Drum Café also caters for all social occasions,
including parties, weddings, birthdays, Barmitzvahs and Batmitzvahs,
Book Clubs, Kitchen teas etc. We bring drums and a specialised
team of musicians to the venue of your choice and add a real
party vibe! We also offer school drumming and introduce children
to music through the joy and ease of playing a drum. Amongst
other benefits for children, interactive drumming creates powerful
team spirit, creates a co-operative rather than a competitive
spirit, offers a powerful alternative to drugs and alcohol,
releases anger, integrates left and right brain activity and
improves hand, eye and ear co-ordination. We also run parent
and staff workshops. The Drum Cafe is committed to supporting
Charities and organisations, and to bringing the experience
and power of drumming to everyone.
